Tengai

Tengai is a 16-bit Japanese classic horizontal scrolling shooter. It is a straightforward arcade game about Japanese warriors fighting to protect their world. Players choose a fighter and fly through hordes of enemies, breaking through crowds of opponents. There is a great variety of them, including samurai, archers, shamans, robots, and even flying fortresses.

By collecting power-ups, players increase their strength, adding more and more powerful attacks to their basic arsenal. Each hit taken removes one power-up, making the weapon weaker. As is typical for games of this genre, players must dodge hundreds of projectiles and defeat serious and mighty bosses. All of this, combined with a wild Japanese style and pixel graphics, makes the game highly appealing.
